Food for Thought, Words for the Soul: A Passion Project
Once upon a time is how any good story starts and, as a nod to the classical threshold, is how I chose to start my story.
As a writer and a young adult, I have always been encouraged to start my own blog. Many times I have started and lost track in the push and pull of everyday life, but with the brink of graduation, I thought it time to consolidate my thoughts and share them with anyone who is willing to listen.
I think the main reason I have never continued with the blogging format is that I hate introductions. Instead I like to dive straight into the deep density of the soul, skipping the awkward first handshake and going directly for the heart of the matter. That is, of course, where the best stories are and I am a storyteller. I also know I have not been successful in the blogging industry because I have yet to find my complete voice. With various other factors in the way, the prolonged development of "my voice" seems to me a journey in and of itself, which I hope to continue here on this platform.
You are probably wondering why I am lamenting on my short comings but I chose to bring them about to exemplify that it is because of these failed attempts that I can now finally drive a platform for my success. Now knowing more about myself, my writing, my strengths and weaknesses, I have found the confidence to put my ideas out into the world. Which, writing this now, is a great and liberating feeling.
I have been told (by my mother, my biggest supporter) that my writing style is unapologetically truthful. Whether this was by my own choice or some kind of predetermined instinct, I find that I tend to break down my experiences into their rawest form, avoiding, yet in many ways utilizing cliches in order to keep a very leveled relationship with my reader.
I like to call this blog my passion project because it is with these posts that I hope to inspire my audience as well as myself and to grow identity as a writer. In it's contents will spill whatever is on my heart that day, with a strict goal in mind to keep my personal truth with my readership while also avoiding converting this blog into my personal diary. With theses words I hope to provide you food for thought through lifestyle practices that I fill my life with, ultimately sharing my journey into the unrequited realm of young adulthood.
Welcome to my Passion Project!
